At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. 

Everyday, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to learn grow and thrive. Our programs and services mirror our core values in promoting Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. The Y is a place of belonging, a place to be yourself and improve your life. 

To share the Y experience with everyone we raise money through our Strong Kids Annual Campaign. The annual campaign provides funding for our Open Doors Financial Aid Program. Providing financial aid promotes inclusiveness at our Y by bridging the financial gap for children and families of the Kennebec Valley community who would otherwise be unable to afford membership and programs.

2019 Strong Kids Annual Campaign Goal is $260,000.

Why Give?

Through our Strong Kids Annual Campaign we offered scholarships to more than 1,500 community members in 2018. Here are some other reasons to give:

• 100% of your donation directly supports your community.
• We need your support. 15% of the KV YMCA’s revenue is sourced from fundraising.
• We awarded $262,000 in financial aid through the Open Doors Financial Aid Program in 2018.
• 20.5% of our members receive financial assistance for their memberships.
• The need for financial assistance is increasing, we need your help to raise enough to cover increasing demand.

Your donation is a gift that has no limits. Your donation provides an opportunity for people of all ages to challenge themselves, develop new skills, grow socially and lead healthier lives. 

Scholarship areas include: Youth programs scholarships include: Learning Center, Camp KV, Julia Clukey Camp for Girls, Aquatics, Youth Programs (Dance, Sports Clubs, Preschool Programming) and Pediatric Referrals. Adult program scholarships include: LiveSTRONG, National Diabetes Prevention Program, Adult Fitness Programs and Clubs and Enhance Fitness. We also provide membership scholarships for every type of membership we offer.
