A Message From the Director

My name is Paul Sveum and I am the new Camp Director here at the KV YMCA.  I am very excited to be joining you at camp this upcoming 2019 season and look forward to having a great summer at the lake!  I love spending time on the water boating and fishing, learning about nature, playing music and sometimes just wandering around the woods looking for something good to eat.  I have taught wilderness living and emergency survival, outdoor leadership and lead several extended expeditions paddling in canoes, hiking in mountains and in the winter trekking on snowshoes.

In addition to a fantastic line up of planned themed weeks this summer, campers will be able to participate in a collection daily activities such as arts and crafts, sports, nature, environmental science, literacy, boating, swimming, archery, low ropes, GAGA, and many more!

At Camp KV, we believe that each camper should be provided with opportunities to grow through experiences that allow him or her to learn valuable skills, explore new ideas and activities, and make friends and memories that last a lifetime. Camp serves as a place where kids can learn what it means to be a contributing member of a community, while engaging in a variety of guided recreation activities.

On behalf of the Y and our camp staff, we look forward to being a part of your child’s camp experience this summer.
