The hardest part of any exercise routine is getting started and sticking with it. Our staff is here to support you, and to help you find the right match for your schedule, interests and comfort level. The social support that our members give each other is a motivator that will keep you on track! We guarantee you will find, and enjoy camaraderie at your YMCA.
As a member, we encourage you to schedule a free equipment orientation with one of our trainers to ensure you are confident using the fitness equipment safely and effectively. Our trainers are also available for private consultation to determine the best combination of activities to help you reach your personal goals.
Consultations include charts for seat measurements, the recommended starting weight and/or reminders on proper form for a total body training program and more. Call 622-9622 to schedule your appointment today.
The Kennebec Valley YMCA offers its members over 70 free group exercise classes. All of our classes are geared to novice exercisers, or those looking for a low impact approach to aerobic workouts.
There is no need to sign up in advance for our free classes, just show up!
All fitness levels and people, ages 13 and up, are welcome in any class. We recommend you cross-train and sample from all of these on a regular basis to keep your body guessing and improving. Non-members are welcome to try a class for free if there is space available (one-time pass). Adult day passes are available for purchase if non-members would like to continue to sample our group exercise programs. Members may use their 5 FREE guest passes to invite non-members to try a class at your YMCA.
Specialty classes are also available for an additional fee. Our schedules change seasonally, so make sure you pick up the most current copy of our group exercise schedule at the Membership Services Desk.
