IMPORTANT INFORMATION: KV YMCA CLOSURES

Facilities remain closed until further notice

UPDATE: All regular membership access and programming at both KV YMCA facilities remains suspended until further notice. We will continue to follow the guidance of state and local officials and re-evaluate these dates as needed.

In light of recent guidance provided by local and state officials regarding "gathering places", the Kennebec Valley YMCA has made the tough decision to suspend membership and program activities (excluding childcare programs) at both its Augusta and Manchester facilities, beginning Monday, March 16th until further notice.

The KV YMCA serves an average of 800 members every day, and we feel it is our responsibility to keep our community safe and prevent the spreading of this virus.

As of now, our Learning Center and Kids Zone Afterschool Program will remain open until further notice. We want to remain available to families for as long as we can. In the event of area schools closing, our Kids Zone Afterschool Program will follow suit.

As always, the health and safety of our members is our top priority. We ask you to be patient as we navigate through this rapidly changing situation. We will continue to evaluate the situation as it evolves, and this timeline could change at any point. Please be assured that we are closely following developments and will respond quickly as circumstances change. MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS

More than ever, your membership is so meaningful to us and everything the KV YMCA represents. We are asking our community to stand with us by keeping your membership active so that we can continue to provide support to all of you through virtual programs and childcare for families of First Responders and Medical Personnel. However, we understand that this isn't possible for everyone, so we are offering the following options to support your family's needs:

Continued Payments
Please continue to support the KV YMCA's mission of providing for those in our community most in need by continuing payments as scheduled.

THANK YOU so much for your support of our mission! Your support is helping to allow us to continue providing for our community, and making it possible for our staff to prepare classes, programs and activities for you in anticipation of an exciting re-opening!

Payments on Hold
Memberships:
Place a hold on payments by pushing out the processing date of your next payment. By doing so, you will not be charged for the portion of your membership of which you are unable to take advantage and billing will recommence upon our re-opening.

Programs & Rentals:
Programs have NOT been cancelled, but rather, postponed. Our plan is to extend our programs to deliver the maximum amount of service for each activity and reschedule rentals to later dates. We are also offering a program or rental credit which you can apply to a future program or rental date if for some reason the program or rental cannot be rescheduled.

Learning Center:
While the Learning Center remains open, all fees will be maintained. If a family chooses to cancel their enrollment in our Learning Center, re-enrollment in the program will be based on current availability.

Payment Refund
We understand the impacts of this unprecedented time and will, of course, process prorated refunds or system credits upon request. System credits can be applied to your account for later use. Prorated refunds will be done via payment method - credit card payments will be credited to the card used, and cash or check payments will be refunded via check mailed to your address on file. Refunds will be processed weekly. If the Learning Center is closed, payments will be suspended until the center is reopened.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

What if I have questions or need to get something out of my locker?
There will still be staff in the facility to answer phone calls and emails on a limited basis. Please call ahead to make sure there is a staff member around to let you in.

What happens with programs, like swim lessons and basketball?
Due to the uncertainty surrounding the timeline, we will not take any actions until we have reopened for normal operations. Any classes that cannot be made up during break weeks will be reimbursed.
