Pools

REMINDER: Before you head over for an open swim, be sure to call us to verify that the pool is open. On the weekends, we close the family pool at times for parties. We also have swim meets and other events that often cause us to close the pools. We do not want you to be disappointed when you come, so please call ahead to inquire!

The Kennebec Valley YMCA has two pools located at our Augusta Campus. The Competition Pool is kept between 78° and 80°F. It ranges in depth from 3’6” and 8’6” and has eight lanes available for lap swim. The Family Fun Pool is kept between 86° and 87°F. It is a zero-depth entry and gradually increases to 7 feet.

Pool Updates and Closures

Pool closings can be found under Closings and Delays on our Home Page

THUNDER AND LIGHTNING POOL POLICY: for the safety of our guests the pools will be closed 30 minutes after the last sound of thunder or sight of lightning. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

If you have questions about the pool facilities and/or aquatics programs/services please contact Emily our Aquatics Director.
