I have been working with a YMCA since 2002. I started at the Bangor YMCA as a preschool teacher. I began working full-time at the KV YMCA as the Learning Center Director in 2006 and have been here ever since. I love working at the Y because there is never a dull moment and no two days are ever the same! I get to create partnerships and collaborations with people and businesses in our community. I get to help the people, of all ages, of the community find the healthiest versions of themselves. I'm moved everyday by the strength, passion, and grace I see in the members and staff!
I am the Sr. Director of Human Resources and also work closely to oversee the childcare department. I have been with the Y since November 2014. I love working for the Y because of the amazing community connections and impact we make on a daily basis, and being a part of an organization that is committed to bettering the community we live in.
When I moved to the Augusta area, I learned about an opportunity at the Kennebec Valley YMCA, and I was offered a position to join the leadership team. After just one year, I have learned that I joined a dedicated, hard working team focused on the Y mission which focuses on providing the community an environment for the enrichment of all people.
I am looking forward to helping in developing new and interesting programming that will grow membership and sustainability for the community.
I started with the Freeport Y in 2013 and moved to the Kennebec Y in 2021. Having been raised by a single mother and limited financial resources, the Y played a very big role in my childhood experience. I enjoy being able to give back and to support the cause instead of being the cause.
I have been involved with the Kennebec Valley YMCA since 1996 where I started working as a preschool teacher and was promoted to the Manchester Learning Center Director followed by the Membership and Marketing Director before leaving in 2012. My love for teaching fitness classes and volunteering never kept me too far from the Y though. It is an absolute pleasure to be back at the Y as the Marketing and Fund Development Director.
I have been working for the KVYMCA since 2006. I started as an Assistant teacher in the Learning Center and worked my way up to Director in 2020. I'm also a mother of 4 children and when I'm not working I enjoy spending time with them making memories. I choose the KVYMCA because it allows me to be the parent I need and want to be, flexible and engaged. All my children have grown up in the KVYMCA and I love what the Y stands for and the impact on our community.
I started working at the Y the same year my second daughter was born. The chance to develop youth programming, take charge of Camp KV and the opportunity to work in a community-driven non-profit were all part of my choice to come to the KV Y in 2019, that the chance to work in the same place as our daughter's child care! Over the last 5 years, I have grown to appreciate all of my Y family in the admin office and throughout the whole organization. What I love the most is the flexibility and understanding when it comes to scheduling and fitting in work around raising two children when on any given day we need a parent to drop everything and be there for our kids.
I'm originally from upstate NY but have spent the last 15 summers in Maine! In 2020 my husband and I moved to Maine fulltime to raise our 2 kids. I have loved Maine for many years and have wanted to become more involved in the community, and what better way than to join the KV YMCA?! I am very excited to work for the KV YMCA and look forward to helping enrich our community!
